My favourite Oberheim tones, now on Arturia MiniFreak V.
These are tones I use ‚ not strictly vintage tones, more modern tones with a vintage character, because that's inherent in the sound of the Oberheim. Mostly OB-X8, with a few from the OB-8. I first recreated them on the Novation Summit, and I've now rebuilt them for the MiniFreak. Sticking within the limits of the original retains that vintage vibe.
Every Oberheim tone I've made is in here: the 40 from my Oberheim pack for the Summit and Peak, plus the 17 Oberheim tones that were in my Vintage Classics bank.
WHAT'S IN IT
57 presets ‚ 20 pads, 15 basses, 10 leads, 5 keys, 5 brass, strings and a sequence.
13 big unison patches in 6-voice Unison mode.
A saw + pulse wavetable sampled from my OB-X8 ‚ five waves going from saw + square to saw only. It's used on NoChorus and Noisey Int, and it's there for your own sound design.
Chorus, delay and reverb set in MiniFreak's FX slots.
The mod wheel is set up on every preset.
WORKS IN MINIFREAK V AND ON THE MINIFREAK HARDWARE
Import the bank file into MiniFreak V and it appears in your browser. The wavetable is built into the file, so there's nothing else to load.
Everything in the bank uses engines and functions the hardware has too, so you can send it straight to a MiniFreak or MiniFreak Stage from MiniFreak V. The wavetable doesn't travel with the presets, so for the hardware you import the WAV into your MiniFreak's user wavetables first. It's in the download, and the READ ME walks you through both routes.
Requires Arturia MiniFreak V version 5 or later. Works with the MiniFreak and MiniFreak Stage hardware.
