Recreating tones from my vintage Jupiter 8, now on Arturia MiniFreak V.
These started as my Jupiter 8 tones for the Novation Summit and Peak, and I've rebuilt all of them for the MiniFreak. They're all very usable, musical tones — basses, pads, keys, organs, strings and brass. I've kept them within the limits of the Jupiter 8 — two oscillators, one LFO, the envelopes — to retain that vintage vibe.
On the Summit I added some extra modulation on the Animate buttons that isn't possible on the original, but still within Jupiter 8 capabilities — filter jumps, fifths, delay-time glitches. On the MiniFreak those tricks live on Macro 1 and Macro 2, and the mod wheel is set up on every preset. It gives the patches more playability and room for experimentation.
85 presets: 22 pads, 19 basses, 16 leads, 11 keys, 4 strings, 4 brass, 3 electric pianos, 3 sequences, an organ and 2 effects
26 presets with Animate-style tricks on Macro 1 and 2
Chorus, delay and reverb dialled in using MiniFreak's three FX slots
Sync and cross-mod patches rebuilt with MiniFreak's VAnalog and FM / RM engines
Import the bank file into MiniFreak V and it appears in your browser. Everything in the bank uses engines and functions the hardware has too, so you can send it straight to a MiniFreak or MiniFreak Stage from MiniFreak V — and this bank needs no wavetables loading, so the presets play as they are. The READ ME walks you through both routes.
