Starsky's Vintage Synths - 85 Presets for MiniFreak V & Hardware
Give your MiniFreak a vintage treat.
These are some of my most-used tones from four classic synths — the Roland Juno-6/60, Minimoog, Sequential Prophet-5 and Korg DW-8000 — rebuilt on Arturia MiniFreak V from my Summit & Peak Vintage Classics soundbank. In a lot of cases they’re very close to the originals, and each one keeps to what the original synth could do, so they sound and behave like the instruments they came from.
The Oberheim tones from that bank live in my OB Collection for MiniFreak V, so the two packs don’t overlap.
WHAT’S IN IT
85 presets — 23 basses, 19 leads, 10 pads, 9 organs, 6 brass, 5 keys, 4 electric pianos, 3 strings and a few extras.
29 Juno-6/60, 23 DW-8000, 19 Minimoog and 14 Prophet-5 tones. The name prefix tells you which is which.
Two custom wavetables: all 16 waves from my Korg DW-8000, and 5 Prophet-5 stacked waves — saw, saw + square, saw + square + triangle, square + triangle, and saw + triangle.
The DW-8000 and Prophet-5 presets sit exactly on the original waves, so you get the real shapes. Sweep the Wave knob for new ones.
Six big unison leads and basses in 6-voice Unison mode.
The mod wheel is set up on every preset — vibrato, a sweep, or it opens the filter.
WORKS IN MINIFREAK V AND ON THE MINIFREAK HARDWARE
Import the bank file into MiniFreak V and it appears in your browser. The wavetables are built into the file, so there’s nothing else to load.
Everything in the bank uses engines and functions the hardware has too, so you can send it straight to a MiniFreak or MiniFreak Stage from MiniFreak V. The wavetables don’t travel with the presets, so for the hardware you import the two WAVs into your MiniFreak’s user wavetables first. They’re in the download, and the READ ME walks you through both routes.
Requires Arturia MiniFreak V version 5 or later. Works with the MiniFreak and MiniFreak Stage hardware.
LICENCE
Royalty-free. Use the sounds in your own music, commercial or not, for as long as you like. Don’t resell or redistribute the presets or the wavetables themselves.
