Serum2 M4L Classic Synth Mode — THEPRO-5

£19.00

The Prophet-5 is the one you learn synthesis on. Everything is on the panel, everything does one thing, and Poly-Mod sits there daring you to work out what it is for.

THEPRO-5 gives you that panel inside Ableton Live, with Serum 2 doing the sound. If you would rather build a patch than browse one, start here.

WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE

Two oscillators — saw, triangle and pulse with width — sync, and a filter that does the thing the Prophet filter does when you push resonance and envelope amount together. Then Poly-Mod, routing the filter envelope and oscillator B into pitch and pulse width: the difference between a sound that sits still and one that moves as you play it.

Brass that cuts, sync leads with bite, basses with weight, and the bells and plucks that only come out of FM-adjacent routing on an analogue panel.

WHAT'S IN IT

The THEPRO-5 Max for Live device, with a compact panel for the Live device chain and a full-size faceplate that opens in its own window.

86 sounds as Ableton .adv files — the largest bank in the range — plus an Init patch. Classic reference points like "P5 Brass", "P5 ClassicPad", "Analog Piano", "BIG Uni Sync Lead", "Daft Sync" and "Is this Tom Sawyer", alongside basses, plucks, bells, and a set built specifically to show what Poly-Mod is for.

79 native Serum 2 presets, so the sounds come with you into any DAW, with no Ableton and no Max for Live. Fourteen sit in the Vintage Synths bank; the other 65 are converted THEPRO-5 sounds in a bank of their own.

The custom wavetable and noise sample, the full MIDI CC allocation list, an optional OXI E16 scene and instrument map, an illustrated installation PDF and the licence.

HANDS-ON CONTROL

Every control answers to ordinary MIDI CC with no MIDI Learn to set up first — plug a controller in and the panel moves. Standard allocations where they make sense: CC74 cutoff, CC71 resonance, CC7 volume, CC5 glide. Notes, pitch bend and sustain pass straight through.
